Hi, I’m Charline. I’m the Communications Manager at Davidson, which means I’m often the one sharing on social media everything the Davidsonians want to tell you.
I was just about to post something about our 20th anniversary party when I realized… this deserves more.
Because behind these 20 years, more than success stories to show off, there are above all human stories — including mine.
My role is to put into words what life is like at Dav. Without sugar-coating it, without making us look better than we are — just trying to stay true to what really goes on here.
I can’t tell you about the early days of the company, about the crazy energy of those first moments — because in 2005, I had just started high school, was choosing my MSN screen name, sending nudges, and listening to She Will Be Loved on my iPod… Davidson? Never heard of it.
We first crossed paths in 2018. I stumbled upon a job ad. What caught my eye first (honestly)? The address — 20 meters from my place 😉
I checked out the website and discovered the Da Vidson Code. I wanted to know who could have written such a book. First interview, first impression: “I think I’m going to like it here.”
I joined Davidson by chance. I stayed by choice.
-
Because I wanted to work with an incredible team: Anaïs, who reached out to me from day one. Bertrand, who never told me “do it this way” but rather “go ahead, surprise me.”
Farida, who plans every event like it’s her best friend’s wedding. Antoine, our art director, who manages to capture what we imagine — even when it’s fuzzy — and adds those details that change everything.
Matthieu, my teammate, whom I’ve known for two years but feel like I’ve known forever. -
Because I wanted to be part of a constantly evolving company project. Since 2018, I’ve seen Davidson grow, question itself, become a B Corp, become aware of its externalities, open up to the world, and cross the Atlantic.
All without ever compromising on its “values” (at Dav, we call them principles — but you’d have to read the Da Vidson Code to get that 😉). -
Because I wanted to go through crises: Covid, financial ones (“there’s no more budget…”), and learn how to weather the storm and come back stronger.
Here, they say it’s only in times of crisis that you know if the project holds up. 20 years later, I’d say we’ve done pretty well. -
Because I wanted the unexpected: running under the Grand Palais dome in a rainbow cape to support the Women’s Foundation, attending a Senate conference with the Minister of Sports, redesigning and decorating my new office, creating a swag store for our team, doing a sophrology workshop with a freediving world champion, talking about ecology with Hugo Clément…
So no, this wasn’t a post about a party — even if it was amazing.
Just a glimpse behind the scenes.
And since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few of the most beautiful moments.
Charline
