Riiing, riiing, riiing! The bell rang, heralding a festive student atmosphere for our annual prom. Davidsonians stepped out in their most elegant outfits worthy of true prom kings and queens. The sparkling gowns and tasteful suits caused a sensation and set the tone for this exceptional evening of style.
The entertainment provided a touch of sparkle and fun throughout the evening. The graduation hall was transformed into a photo booth, inviting guests to capture their finest moments in a setting imbued with university spirit. Hats, gowns and other fun accessories added a dose of extravagance to the shots. And let’s not forget the giant decorated photo set that captured some unforgettable class photos, a symbol of the unity and closeness of the Class of 2023. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and friendly smiles.
The fun continued with a glitter bar, where everyone could shine and add a sparkling touch to their outfit. There was also a stand selling personalised t-shirts, giving everyone a chance to take home a unique souvenir of this magical evening. And of course, a festive evening means delicious treats! It’s not a party without tasty snacks. A popcorn and candyfloss stand was on hand to delight our guests.
No food was wasted: all leftovers were donated to Cop1, which helps students in need. It’s a way of combining pleasure and solidarity, perfectly in line with our values.
The highlight of the evening came at 10.30 pm at the end of our founders’ speech, when the music stopped, the lights went down and a troupe of dancers appeared on rollerblades from all sides of the great hall. Their choreography mesmerised the guests, drawing them onto the dance floor.
Meanwhile, a masterpiece of choux puffs appeared, symbolically marking Davidson’s 18th birthday and launching the second half of this unforgettable evening. The Davidsonians took over from there, setting the dance floor alight in a frenzied atmosphere.
This evening will remain engraved in our memories as a moment of joy and celebration. We shared some magical moments, strengthening the bonds that unite us.
