Art has always been her playground: she grew up in a family of artists, surrounded by colors, brushes, and canvases that fueled her imagination from an early age. At 16, she made a remarkable entrance onto the art scene, exhibiting her work and winning several awards. A turning point in her journey? An unforgettable stay in Vienna, where she immersed herself in the vibrant world of F. Hundertwasser, completely transforming her perception of art. She also draws powerful inspiration from masters like Matisse, Monet, Klimt, and Picasso.
For the past 20 years, she has been thriving in Leeds, West Yorkshire, where the multifaceted landscapes fuel her imagination. To her, nature is a living patchwork, blending the charms of Italy, France, Spain, and Latvia. Her works vibrate with bold combinations of color, line, and story. Each painting is an invitation to travel: from the sunlit mountains of Tuscany to Italy’s mesmerizing cathedrals, and the enchanting gardens of Britain. She also captures the poetry of everyday life — whether it’s a comforting cat or a woman dreaming of true love. Her paintings speak, move, and transport.

“In my paintings, I pay great attention to the play of color, line, and story. I convey my vision of the world through colors and images, but the narrative plays a special role.” – Katrina Avotina
